Drivers
A Word on gfxBoost
I’m sure all of our frequent readers saw Aaron’s posting the other day on Chainfire’s release of GfxBoost. I just want to take a second to explain what Chainfire is doing and why we all need to thank him.
First off, Chainfire is legendary for his work on the Kaiser/Tilt drivers so he has [...]
Accelerate your Kaiser (Tilt)/Touch Pro (Fuze)
One of the legends of the ppc development game, Chainfire, has released GfxBoost v0.5, this app activates QTV mode which improves speed/smoothness of certain apps, including Direct3D. The app actually slows down FPS but the manner in which it does it makes the screen seem more responsive. Its a bit complicated but it you want [...]
Qualcomm Acquires AMD’s Handheld Technology Assets
To say I have not been active in writing about the Qualcomm Driver debacle is quite the understatement. (don’t believe me? CLICK HERE) After the Kaiser Driver issue that was beautifully illuminated by the efforts of HTCClassAction.org, there was a distaste by many of the hard core WinMo users that I don’t think ever [...]
Who’s Really Behind The Kaiser Driver Development?
Hopefully you all have had a chance to read my last post: Kaiser Drivers Still Being Developed, Hope Is not Lost! I have updated it with some more clarity on some of the information I provided with who is really involved with the Kaiser Drivers. I forwarded my article to Chainfire as I normally [...]
Kaiser Drivers Still Being Developed, Hope Is not Lost!
With all of the hype about the Touch Pro (Raphael) and it being brought to the US to be sold as the Fuze through AT&T, I have lost sight of the development of the 3D Drivers that are being developed for the Kaiser (HTC TyTN II and AT&T Tilt). Search Tilt Mobility and there [...]
NVIDIA And Opera Team Up To Create "The Full Web On Mobile Devices"
Could it really be possible that someone is listening? How long have we suffered the lack of proper drivers on our device? Instead of HTC and Qualcomm engineering what should have been done in the first place, and what was advertised, we have been forced to put our hopes into the kindly people working [...]
Updated Video Drivers released
An update has been release for the developing HTC Video Drivers, from HTCClassAction.org:
This package is once more a compatibility update. Changes come down to better compatibility across different Kaiser DDI.DLL versions (specifically 3.55 and up), some optimizations, and removed dependancies on ScreenUpdateByXXXX calls and mutexes.
Please note that these are only confirmed to work on [...]
Full Screen Drivers & Manilla Screen Shots
Okay, I was actually a little nervous about trying this one out. But Hey, what’s a bricked phone when it comes to some cool screen shots of Manilla Goodness for you guys! Anyway, Everything went according to HTCClassAction’s instructions. Manilla does not work on the Kaiser and the screen rendering was really slow. I [...]
Drivers, now with “full-screen” support
Since the initial release of the drivers, there has already been one update and now I’m proud to present a second update, already. This new version features a hack that emulates full-screen mode thus allowing full-screen 3D applications (but it’s emulated so expect bugs). This is pretty much the only change in the drivers.
Also, there [...]
Drivers: Moving forward
The drivers for the Tilt already have received their first update since the initial launch.
The updated version has a few changes, and I’ve had to do some searching to find out exactly what. Apparently the change has to do with the inner workings of the driver itself. The new version does this in a safer [...]
