Micro SD / T-Flash Card Reader from USBFever
If you’ve got a Tilt, or most any other cellphone today really, then you’ve got a microSD card in it, and to transfer data to and from it you can easily just hook your phone up to your computer via USB, but as we’ve all found out that’s not the quickest way to do things…
The solution of course for fast file transfers is to use a card reader, but I’ve noticed that it seems actual microSD card readers are in short supply, you’d think that with the popularity of them we’d see many more on the market but we don’t. Most microSD cards come with an SD adapter and that’s about it, I know ATP at one time packaged a USB microSD card reader with their cards, (it’s really nice actually, I’ve got one) but I don’t know many other companies that do that, I guess they all assume that we have the ability to read SD cards so we won’t need the reader…
Personally I don’t care for the SD option as really it’s just one more thing to carry and possibly lose somewhere, I’m happy with just a reader for my microSD cards. I’ve been using a MicroDrive that I got from Brando WorkShop, it’s about the size of a standard USB thumbdrive, and it also reads M2 and MMCmicro cards as well but it’s still rather large, I like small things that can easily be tucked out of the way or in my pocket.
Today for review I’ve got what is claimed to be the world’s smallest microSD card reader from my friends at USBFever, it’s aptly named the MicroSD / T-Flash Card Reader and it truly is tiny with it being just a bit longer than a microSD card and a hair wider, it’s extremely lightweight and best of all it’s inexpensive!
So continue on to check out what I think is THE microSD card reader to own…

There’s a bit more info on their site, you can visit the product page HERE if you wish to, but what I’ve listed is the important information I think..
So the USBFever microSD Reader comes in your standard garden variety plastic display hanger package, the good news is that it’s not he sealed kind so you can open it easily without having to cut it apart. You can plainly see the product through the front of the package, and there’s a bit of information listed on the front and back as well.
The only things in the package are the reader itself and a break-apart keychain, the two halves can be unscrewed so you can leave one half on your keychain, phone or wherever, while you still have the ability to plug the reader into anywhere you need to.
here’s a quick picture of the reader sitting on a quarter to give you a good idea of its size:
Small isn’t it?
Anyway, to use it you just slide your microSD card into the slot that is on the bottom or back of the reader, very easy to use and the card feels secure inside of it, when the keychain is attached the knot actually helps secure the card in the reader also, at least it does on mine. Not sure if this was intentional or by accident, but it works.
At first I didn’t notice it but there is a tiny blue LED inside of the reader that glows solid when powered and blinks when accessing the card, interesting but hard to see as it’s inside of the
reader itself, you can only see it in low light and when looking directly at the end.
Since there’s not much out there to test this up against I’m not going to go into speeds etc of different readers, but I can say it works the same as my other reader does. Of course with microSD cards the speeds all depend on the cards and not really the reader itself for the most part.
The microSD / T-Flash reader from USBFever is actually very nice, it seems well made and it works well doing exactly what it’s supposed to do, read microSD cards.
The bonus feature of this is that, if you’re like me, then you’ve got a few microSD cards floating around, you can pop one in there and you’ve got a very small and portable USB drive now, so it works not only as a reader but a nice tiny storage device.
If you paid attention to the specs listed above then you’d know this product sells for only $9.99, which I think is a very good price for such a very useful little gadget. USBFever also has worldwide shipping for $2.99 on everything, so it’ll only cost you about $13 shipped to your door, and that’s not bad really for such a great little product…
if I had to score this product it would get a perfect score (5 out of 5) as there’s nothing really wrong with it, it’s well made, small, very portable, inexpensive and does exactly as it should.
If you’re in the market for a nice and useful microSD card reader then I can honestly Recommend you get this one, personally this is what I’ve been using since it came in for review and what I’m going to continue using for some time to come…
Pros:
-Tiny, and portable
-Very useful
-Easy to carry
-Double as USB drive
-Seems well made
-microSD card feels secure inside reader
Cons:
-None really

No offense or anything, but isn’t it just as likely you’d loose the reader? Either the adapter or the reader, you still have to hang on to an extra piece of hardware.
Least thats how i see it
